About the Author

Gwendolyn Elizabeth Young Miller was born in Gary, Indiana in 1956 to Troy (steel worker) and Carolyn (homemaker) on October 25, 1956. Gary was a thriving industrial City at that time. Her parents became home owners at a very early age providing Gwen, her two brothers and sister with a modest middle class lifestyle. Gwen graduated from West Side High school in 1975 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Calumet College in 1980. Gwen was a member of the Gary Writers Club. This club would meet twice a month where writers shared their short stories or poetry with other writers and invited guest. It was there that Gwen met some of the most creative people who helped and encouraged her to continue to write.
